The Art of Communication

Facts: In today’s business world good communication skills are no longer a “nice to have”, they are absolutely vital. Having the most amazing business ideas is one thing, communicating those ideas to inspire others is quite another.

For the past 6 years, recruiters have consistently placed communication skills at the top, or within the top 3, of their skills criteria when they look to hire new people. (GMAC Corporate Recruiters Survey). The 2011 Survey shows this skill set in pole position yet again. This clearly demonstrates that these skills are crucial for those already within companies and for those who are looking for a new position, including MBA graduates.

Whether you are pitching to potential clients for that crucial contract, launching a new product or service, presenting at a conference or live event, or delivering a key message to a team, to the board, to stakeholders or to the media, people need to be convinced by what you are saying.

Steve Knight: has over 20 years experience as a broadcaster, including BBC Television and the Discovery Channel. He has a particular flair and proven track record in business presentations for blue chip companies - presenting live and pre-recorded Business Television programmes, hosting Events and Conferences and facilitating Question and Answer sessions.

This combination of broadcast and corporate experience means that Steve is uniquely placed to deliver highly effective Business Presentation Skills coaching for Executives and Managers. This is typically to coach speakers for conferences, live events, Q&A sessions, executive development programmes, media & PR opportunities and for large contract bids where the company is pitching against its competitors. It includes advice on content, structure, appropriate media and the all-important delivery.

His broad client base includes RBS Insurance, Coutts, Johnson & Johnson, Takeda, O2, bmi British Midland, BMW, Rio Tinto, Bouygues Construction, Laing O’Rourke, Infiniti Europe, AstraZeneca, Nissan Europe, 3, Orange, Pfizer, Areva, Clough Australia, Maunsell Australia, IXIS AEW Europe, Amgen, Woodside Australia, Allianz

Steve is heavily involved in the academic sector, running courses for MBAs, Executive MBAs and Executive Education.
