Pekka Hietala is Professor of Finance at INSEAD. He received his MBA from the Helsinki School of Economics (Finland), M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from the Helsinki University of Technology, and his MA in Economics and PhD in Finance from Stanford University. Professor Hietala served as Dean of the MBA Programme from 2001 until 2004. He has directed and taught in several executive programmes in Europe, Africa, Asia and the United States on various topics in finance. He is a member of Board of Evli Bank and of Scandinavian Financial Research Ltd. and consultant to several organizations and companies. He was visiting Professor at the University of Chicago, 1994-95.
His main research interests lie in the areas of Corporate Finance, Capital Market Efficiency, Warrant and Options Pricing and International Finance. He has published in several academic journals, including Financial Management, Journal of Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance and Journal of Multinational Financial Management, and is Editor of the journal European Financial Management.
