Professor Zollo is the Shell Fellow in Business and the Environment, and Associate Professor of Strategy at INSEAD. He is also the deputy director of INSEAD's Business In Society (IBIS) center.

His work is concerned with researching and teaching on the management of corporate development processes, from strategy implementation (acquisitions and strategic alliances) to organizational learning and social responsibility issues. The overall thrust of his work lies in developing a solid understanding of how managers can guide the evolution of corporations through the combined use of strategic initiatives, socialization processes and knowledge management techniques.

The managerial insights from his research were featured on Harvard Business Review, European Business Forum and the Financial Times, whereas its academic output has been published on the Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Research Policy and Industrial and Corporate Change and others.

His first book, entitled "Mergers: leadership, performance and corporate health", written in cooperation with the McKinsey & Co.'s post-merger management practice, is forthcoming in October 2006. He is also the academic director of the RESPONSE project, a major EU-funded research program on the development of socially responsible practices and mindsets in multinational enterprises.

Dr. Zollo is a former member of the Executive Committee and of the Research Committee of the Business Policy and Strategy division of the Academy of Management. He is currently serving on the management committee of the European Academy of Business in Society and on the board of Organization Science, Industrial and Corporate Change, the European Management Journal and Organization Studies.

He holds a Ph.D. degree in management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a laurea degree in monetary economics from Bocconi University in Italy. Before starting his academic career, he had extensive professional experiences in management consulting and investment banking advisory services for firms like McKinsey & Co. and Merrill Lynch.
