Dr Michael Jarrett is an Affiliate Professor of Organisational Behaviour at
INSEAD. His teaching, research and consulting work is on leading strategic
change, leadership and personality, the dynamics of top teams and the
application of psychodynamics to resistance, organisational culture and change.
Prior to joining INSEAD, Michael Jarrett was an Adjunct Professor in
Organisational Behaviour at the London Business School; Visiting faculty at Witts
University; as well as a faculty member of Cranfield School of Management. His
consulting posts include being a partner at Ilyas Jarrett & Co., Managing Director
of Personnel Decisions International, UK and a Director with the Alexander
Corporation. He continues to consult to senior executives and CEOs in
companies such as Lloyds, Barclays and PwC. He is also a group relations
consultant with the Tavistock Clinic.
He teaches extensively on executive programmes and was Programme Director
of Managing Change in a Down turn and Programme Co‐Director of Essential of
Leadership while at London Business School.
He has written books on the dynamics of change including: Changeability: Why
are some organisations ready for change and others aren’t, Management in
Practice: a framework for understanding organisational change; articles on
change in journals such as the Journal of Change Management, Organisation and
Social dynamics; as well as features in practitioner journals such as Business
Strategy Review and the Strategy Magazine.
Dr Jarrett received a PhD from Cranfield School of Management, a Masters in
Economics from London University and an undergraduate degree in Economics.
He is a graduate of the Tavistock Institute of Human Relations
