Professor Fang joined INSEAD in 2003. Her research spans a range of topics in capital markets and financial institutions. She has studied the role of reputation in the financial intermediation market, and the relation between reputation and performance among sell-side analysts. She has also examined how mass-media coverage impacts stock returns, institutional trading, and performance. Her current research includes gender issues in sell-side research, and relationships between investment banks and private equity firms. Professor Fang’s work has appeared in top-tier academic journals such as the Journal of Finance and the Review of Financial Studies, and the popular press such as the Financial Times.
Professor Fang teaches corporate finance, capital markets, valuation, and private equity finance in both the MBA and the Executive classrooms. She has won the Dean's Commendation Award for Excellence in MBA Teaching, and she is the Director for two executive programs focusing on alternative investments.
Professor Fang obtained her PhD in Finance from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Prior to studying finance, she studied mathematics, actuarial science and management science at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver.
