Fares Boulos is Affiliated Professor of Practice in Strategy at INSEAD and Adjunct Professor of Strategic Management at University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management. Fares was appointed as the Kermit O. Hanson Visiting Professor at Michael G. Foster School of Business, University of Washington (Seattle) Business School.

At INSEAD, Fares was Project Manager and co-leader of a major research project focused on Managing for Value (MfV). The MfV project examined how companies around the world adopted value-creating practices in response to the globalization of capital markets and increasing shareholder activism. Fares co-authored "Managing for Value: It's Not Just About The Numbers" (July-August 2001, Harvard Business Review), and of a major report titled: "Getting The Value Out Of Value Based Management" (July 2001, Harvard Business School Press).

Fares teaches strategic management in a variety of programs. At INSEAD, he's a director of the IBM Client Executive and IBM Master Deal Maker programs, and of the TELUS Senior Leadership Forum (TELUS is Canada's 2nd biggest Telco). Fares teaches/has taught in various other corporate programs, including ABN AMRO (Netherlands), TV2 (Denmark), Lafarge, RBC Financial Group (Canada), Sanoma WSOY (Finland), TNK-BP (Russia) and Glaxo Smith Kline. In Canada, Fares is the academic director of the Directors' Education Program in Vancouver. In 2005 he taught the 1st year MBA core Competitive Strategy course at the University of Washington, where he won the Professor of the Quarter award for best teaching. Fares serves on the Dean's Advisory Board at Rotman and is a director of the Vancouver Community College Foundation Board.

Before joining INSEAD, Fares held several senior positions in the investment industry in Canada over a 15-year career, including Director of Research for Wood Gundy, one of Canada's major investment dealers, now part of CIBC, and Portfolio Manager for Jarislowsky Fraser, one of Canada's leading independent investment counselling firms. Before entering the investment world, Fares spent five years as a senior consultant with The Canada Consulting Group, a strategy-consulting firm that has since merged with The Boston Consulting Group.

Fares holds an MBA and B.Sc. from the University of Toronto and a Diploma in Writing for Film, Television & New Media from the Vancouver Film School.
