Christoph Zott is Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at INSEAD. Dr. Zott's research and teaching interests are centered on business creation, in particular as it involves the design of new business models, and the management (i.e., acquisition, mobilization, combination and deployment) of resources, in particular private equity funding. His articles on these subjects have appeared in several leading academic and practitioner journals, as well as in several books.

At INSEAD, Dr. Zott has taught courses in the MBA and EMBA programs on entrepreneurship, private equity and venture capital, and he has also taught executives and managers on these subjects. Dr. Zott has been the academic advisor to several companies that were created by INSEAD graduates.

Dr. Zott holds graduate degrees in Industrial Engineering from Universität Karlsruhe (Germany) and Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble (France). He received his Ph.D. in Commerce and Business Administration from the University of British Columbia. Dr. Zott was the recipient of several prestigious scholarships and awards, for example from the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes (Germany) and the Izaak Walton Killam Foundation (Canada). Before joining the academic world, Dr. Zott worked as a management consultant. He also has working experience in manufacturing and in banking, both in Europe and in North America.
