The World's Best Architecture in Second Life

INSEAD's virtual campus, designed by Pixelbreeze architects, has been selected as an example of the world's best architecture in Second Life, in a book called Space Between People, which published the results of the first architecture and design competition in Second Life.

The Metaverse: TV of the Future?

Professor Miklos Sarvary discusses the potential impact of virtual worlds in the Harvard Business Review, February 2008.

INSEAD is one of the first management schools to dip a toe into the online economy, instead of merely studying it

INSEAD has created spaces for virtual classes, group meetings, lounge areas for students to meet with professors, potential employers, and one another and has also commissioned laboratories for research.  "The purpose is to do everything we do, but better" explains Miklos Sarvary, Professor of Marketing and Faculty Director of the Learning Innovation Centre.  (Business Week)

Participants will have the opportunity to develop a business plan and test it on the virtual campus

"Our presence there is a natural extension of our dedication to provide participants with the most current, real-time technological advancements and deliver top leadership development programmes, whether it takes place on a physical campus or online digital world.” says Miklos Sarvary. (FT.com)

You really do have the impression of being there with other students

Second Life is now fully voice-enabled so you can have real time discussions as if you were in the same room!   “You get the same sense of community that you do in a lecture theatre, because you can see each other, you are all there in the same place. At the end of the course, I made my way over to the avatar of a student who was actually in Paris, and we had a discussion, the relationship was very direct,” said Alain Desvigne, an MBA Student on the Singapore campus.
