HOW CAN I INNOVATE BETTER?
You may think that being innovative is an inherent quality for some people and unrealistically ambitious or inaccessible to others who seem less creative. However, research findings based on managers across many global organisations have shown that certain behaviours which are conducive to innovative thinking, can be identified, practised and improved over time. Hal Gregersen, Affiliate Professor of Leadership at INSEAD helps managers to explore the Innovator's DNA, which is so crucial to the sustainable success of corporations today.
Through a series of surveys, exercises and frameworks, managers on the INSEAD Social Entrepreneurship programme had the opportunity to discover their own potential for innovation and how to leverage their strengths. A key element of this session is a workshop called Dialogue in the Dark, where participants are plunged into a completely dark room to carry out a number of team-based exercises, facilitated by blind guides. Deprived of all the usual reference points, participants find themselves having to adapt to new ways of communicating and working together to achieve results.

You really do have the impression of being there with other students
Second Life is now fully voice-enabled so you can have real time discussions as if you were in the same room! “You get the same sense of community that you do in a lecture theatre, because you can see each other, you are all there in the same place. At the end of the course, I made my way over to the avatar of a student who was actually in Paris, and we had a discussion, the relationship was very direct,” said Alain Desvigne, an MBA Student on the Singapore campus.
