New to the Centre

The Social Innovation Centre has the pleasure to welcome Ebba Abdon, Raadiya Begg and Christine Driscoll.

Her contribution, expertise and time will be split between the Social Entrepreneurship Initiative and the Social Innovation Centre.

Christine was the Business Development Manager of the socially conscious apparel brand, EDUN LIVE, founded by Ali Hewson and Bono (and now partly owned by LVMH after recent investment). In her role at EDUN LIVE, she managed all aspects of the brand, ranging from sourcing and supply chain management in Africa, to marketing and sales initiatives, as well as profit & loss responsibility.

Christine, an American national, was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts and attended Harvard University, graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and French.  She also studied law at Boston College Law School and King’s College in London, receiving her Juris Doctor in 2002.  After that she went on to practice corporate law at Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault LLP in Boston, specialising in the venture capital and private equity sectors. In July 2006, Christine received her MBA from INSEADIn her role within the Social Innovation Centre, Christine will focus on supporting current MBA participants, alumni and faculty with matters relating to Social Innovation, as well as building relationships and programs with external partners.

Ebba Abdon joined the INSEAD Social Innovation Centre in September as Associate Director. She is located in INSEAD Abu Dhabi where she will spend half of her time for the INSEAD Social Innovation Centre.

Ebba first joined INSEAD in 2007 as a Manager of the Women and Leadership Project in the Middle East. The project aimed at increasing Arab women’s representation in programmes and research and enhancing management, entrepreneurial and leadership skills of women in

the Arab world.

She will lead the Middle East external relations and development and will be involved in the Social Innovation Centre marketing & communication activities. Doing outreach, building networks and partnerships, organizing events etc., will also make part of her role.

Ebba is a Swedish national and holds a Master of Laws in Human Rights, University of Hong Kong and a BA of Arts in International Relations, Webster University of Geneva in Switzerland.

Raadiya Begg joined the INSEAD Africa Initiative team in May as Director, based in INSEAD Abu Dhabi. She will work closely with organizations across the Middle East and Africa to initiate and identify opportunities for collaboration with INSEAD in an African context.

 

Her role entails driving the Africa Initiative’s strategy across the institution with the objectives to: increase African content in research and cases,  develop strategic partnerships with African networks and business leaders to enhance diversity of resources and knowledge, and finally, attract more African talent to INSEAD programmes.

 

Raadiya first joined INSEAD in 2007 as a Business Development Manager within the Career Services team on Singapore campus where she developed corporate partnerships with companies in the Banking & Finance, Technology and Social Impact sectors across APAC and the Middle East. Prior to INSEAD she started her career in Financial Services with Marschollek Lautenschlaeger & Partner where she worked in London and Germany, first within the International Expansion team and then as a Financial Advisor to high-net worth private clients.

 

Raadiya is a South African national and holds BA in South African Private Law and English Literature from the University of Cape Town in South Africa as well as a Degree in International Business from the University of Applied Science and Economics of Hannover in Germany.
