Eddy Fong was appointed the Non-Executive Chairman of the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) in October 2006 by the HKSAR Chief Executive. Mr. Fong has been a Non-Executive Director of SFC since January 2005.

Mr. Fong is a certified public accountant and was formerly a senior partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers. He was educated in Hong Kong and in the United Kingdom. He was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Civil Law by the University of Kent in the United Kingdom in July 1997.

Apart from pursuing an active professional career, Mr. Fong is active in public and community services. Currently he is a Non-Executive Director of the Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation and the Treasurer and Council Member of the Open University of Hong Kong. He was appointed as a Justice of the Peace in 1996 and was awarded Gold Bauhinia Star in 2008 by the Government of the HKSAR. His past public services include:-

• Non-Executive Director of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority
• Non-Executive Director of the Exchange Fund Investments Limited
• Member and Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Hong Kong Housing Authority
