This April, global leaders from business, government and academia came together for the Leadership Summit in Europe 2008 in Fontainebleau, France.

The theme for this year’s Leadership Summit was:

Global citizenship: a cornerstone for leaders

The links between business, the environment and society are tightly bound and yet leaders need to fulfil their organisational objectives, satisfy shareholders, while making a positive impact on society. Is this a realistic goal? What happens when one of the ambitions cannot be satisfied? What do our leaders today need to achieve?

The summit was also an opportunity for participants to discover the activities of the “INSEAD Social Innovation Centre”, which has the development of sustainable economic growth at the core of its mission, and is dedicated to educating a generation of transcultural, responsible leaders that care deeply about social innovation.
