| Unlike some of its more urban B-School colleagues, INSEAD has the distinct advantage of being located in Fontainebleau - a town of that has much to offer in terms of natural beauty, outdoor activities, gastronomy and history. Names such as Victor Hugo, George Sand, Camille Pissaro, Alfred Sisley, Jean Renoir and Napoleon are engraved in the region's history.
Fontainebleau is a picturesque French town, steeped in history. The Château is famous as the summer residence of French kings. Fontainebleau is surrounded by huge forests used in former times as the hunting grounds of the French kings and renowned as the home of Napoleon.
The town itself is a lively centre for shopping, culture, eating and drinking. Fontainebleau is easily reached by train or car from Paris, but most MBA participants are encouraged to live in Fontainebleau itself or in surrounding villages within easy commuting distance of the campus, which is about 10 minutes walk from the centre of the town.
