Research in Abu Dhabi

The research activities undertaken at the INSEAD centre will focus on global issues as well as issues with relevance to the Middle East, covering areas such as humanitarian logistics, human resources management, and information and communication technology.

Centre for Advanced Learning Technologies (CALT)
In the project “Change Masters Middle East” the specific organisational dynamics of managing change and innovation in Middle Eastern organisations are explored, and based on these findings the GulfCom Simulation, a simulation based learning experience for the training of change and innovation management competencies in Middle Eastern organisations, is developed. This project is led by the Centre for Advanced Learning Technologies - CALT.
elab@INSEAD (eLab)
In addition, the centre is home to eLab, representing INSEAD's commitment to cultivating and disseminating management knowledge and thought leadership with a focus on the digital economy. Through local research and dissemination activities, eLab seeks to help private and public stakeholders in the region to leverage the potential of ICT.
INSEAD Global Leadership Centre (IGLC)
In the area of research on women and leadership, the INSEAD Global Leadership Centre is leading studies on the leadership characteristics of successful women and executives in the Middle East.
INSEAD Social  Innovation Centre (ISIC)
Other research concentrations are found in the areas of Corporate Social Responsibility and Ethics and Humanitarian Research, working with the INSEAD Social Innovation Center to bring together and enhance the academic expertise of a diverse group of leading INSEAD research teams.

The Healthcare Management Initiative is dedicated to research and development of pedagogical material on the management of organisations in the healthcare value chain. HMI in Abu Dhabi is particularly focusing on linking research and teaching in healthcare service operations management. The research activities would bring insight into health care delivery in the Middle East, focusing on service delivery design, leadership, emergency preparedness, technology assessment, facility upgrading, policy and regulation.
In addition, HMI offers the Middle East Health Leadership Programme, an executive education programme for the region’s healthcare professionals to gain a better understanding of the strategic, organisational, technological and operational views in health care management.

The INSEAD Africa Initiative aims at fostering interconnections between networks to enhance the importance of African business in the global business community, in collaboration with the Social Innovation Centre, the Abu Dhabi Research Centre, the Alumni network, and international companies and organizations in the private and public sector.

Africa is changing and is playing an increasingly important role in shaping the global economic landscape. As the Business School for the World, we need to ensure our participants and partners get an accurate understanding of the maturation of the African contexts, and foster exchange of ideas and perspectives to leverage the exciting economic changes into opportunities and impact in and with the region.
