Daniel Labrecque MBA '81 elected as New President of the INSEAD Alumni Association


Join us in welcoming Daniel Labrecque MBA '81 who was elected on 19 March by our 41
National Alumni Associations as the new President of the INSEAD International Alumni Association (IAA), succeeding Claire Gouzouli MBA '85D. Daniel will start his new role on 1 April 2007.

Since graduating from INSEAD in 1981, Daniel has remained very much involved with INSEAD and its activities. He has served as Chairman of his last three MBA '81 class reunions and has been a leading volunteer with the INSEAD Alumni Association in Canada. In 1986 Daniel became Secretary of the Canadian INSEAD Foundation, which has been acting as INSEAD's Canadian Council. He was subsequently made President of the Foundation and is currently its Chairman. The Foundation has given over C$1 million in scholarships to over 100 Canadian MBA participants during the last 20 years. We extend a warm welcome to Daniel in his new role and look forward to working with him.

We also take this opportunity to show our appreciation and send our thanks to our outgoing President, Claire Gouzouli MBA '85D, for her dedication and support over the last three years. Claire has been extremely active in this role and her leadership has laid solid foundations for the future.

About Daniel:
Daniel is President & CEO of N.M. Rothschild & Sons Canada Ltd, which he joined in 2002 as CEO. Rothschild, a family-owned international investment bank, provides Canadian clients with financial advisory services in mergers and acquisitions, balance-sheet restructurings and private debt placements. Previously, Daniel was Managing Director and COO of Lazard Canada, Managing Director of Schroder Canada and was Co-Head of Lévesque Beaubien Geoffrion's Corporate Finance and Merger and Acquisition activities.

As well as his MBA from INSEAD, Daniel holds a Diploma in Public Accountancy and Business Administration from Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales, University of Montréal (1977). He is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators.

Daniel is also Director of the C.D. Howe Institute, as well as Board Member of Alpine Canada Alpin (Canadian Alpine Ski Team).
